Yiyagi ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Yiyagi platform, an AI-powered service that transforms life stories into novels. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website and services.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. If you are invited as a gift recipient, we also collect your name and email through the invitation process.

Interview Content

During the interview process, we collect the text and voice recordings of your life story responses. Voice recordings are transcribed into text using AI services. You may also upload photos and videos related to your life story.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe, Inc. We never store or have direct access to your credit card numbers or banking information. We only receive transaction confirmations and order metadata from Stripe.

Usage Data

We collect basic usage information such as session progress, interview completion status, and interaction timestamps to provide and improve our service.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide the core service: conducting AI-guided interviews and generating your personalized novel
  • To transcribe voice recordings into text for the interview process
  • To process payments and deliver your completed novel
  • To send transactional emails (order confirmations, interview reminders, delivery notifications)
  • To store your uploaded media (photos and videos) for potential future content creation
  • To improve our AI interview and novel generation quality

4. AI Data Processing

Your interview data is processed by third-party AI providers to deliver our service:

  • OpenAI — Used for generating interview questions, refining voice-to-text answers, and transcribing audio recordings (via Whisper). Your interview content is sent to OpenAI's API for processing.
  • Anthropic (Claude) — Used for generating your personalized novel from interview transcripts. Your interview answers are sent to Anthropic's API for novel creation.

These AI providers process your data according to their respective privacy policies and data processing agreements. Data sent to these providers is used solely for generating your content and is not used to train their models when accessed via their API services.

5. Voice Recordings

Voice recordings captured during interviews are stored securely in our cloud storage. Recordings are used for transcription and to improve the accuracy of your story content. You may request deletion of all voice recordings at any time by contacting us.

6. Media Uploads

Photos and videos you upload during the interview process are stored securely. These media files are associated with your story and may be used in future content creation services (such as video memoirs). Media files are accessible only to you and authorized personnel. You can delete any uploaded media at any time through the interview interface.

7. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on Supabase, a secure cloud database platform with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement row-level security policies to ensure users can only access their own data. All communications between your browser and our servers are encrypted via HTTPS.

8. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Yiyagi. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

  • Supabase — Database, authentication, and file storage
  • OpenAI — AI interview and voice transcription
  • Anthropic — AI novel generation
  • Stripe — Payment processing
  • Resend — Transactional email delivery
  • Vercel — Website hosting and deployment

9. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR and CCPA), you have the right to:

  • Access — Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Deletion — Request deletion of your personal data, including interview content, voice recordings, uploaded media, and generated novels
  • Data Portability — Request your data in a portable format
  • Opt-out — Opt out of non-essential communications at any time

10. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management (provided by Supabase Auth). We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

11. Children's Privacy

Yiyagi is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will promptly delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the latest revision was made.
